From the start of their learning journey at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, students are introduced to music. Students then have the opportunity to pursue their musical passion through individual music tuition. The Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) Awards for Excellence are presented annually to recognise outstanding results in music and speech and drama examinations. At the recent online awards ceremony, the following students were recognised for their outstanding achievements in music examinations during 2021:
George Leu (Year 10) First Grade Theory of Music
George Leu Second Grade Theory of Music
Erin Rennie (Year 11) Third Grade Theory of Music
Harper Iseppi-Walker (Year 4) Preliminary Piano
Alyssa Ong (Year 4) Preliminary Violin
Dharmik Kadaparalla (Year 6) First Grade Viola
James Jensen (Year 12, 2021) Sixth Grade Piano for Leisure
In addition to examinations, the AMEB Award Program is an opportunity in which students can draw together school activities and AMEB examinations, allowing them to gain credit for school and community contributions and performances, including extra activities that are sometimes unacknowledged. Students are required to demonstrate the breadth and service aspects of their music and the Award can be achieved at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. The following students achieved their Awards during 2021:
Cassandra Leu (Year 12, 2021) Gold Award
Holly Harrison (Year 11) Gold Award
Congratulations to the students on their outstanding achievements!
