Our School hockey club continues to go from strength to strength with 11 teams entered in the Bunbury and Districts Junior Hockey Association 2023 competition.

It was a very successful season with teams reaching finals in five of the six divisions, with three teams competing in Grand Finals.

Congratulations to Mr Bell’s J5/6 Girls and Gap Student Mr Govender’s J7/8 Boys who finished the season as Premiers!

The J9-12 Boys Gold also played in a fantastic Grand Final, unfortunately going down 3-2.

Well done to Beth L and Tamika W in the J5/6 Girls, Cooper B in the J7/8 Boys and Meg W in the J9-12 Girls, who were presented with Association Awards.

The strong tradition of students representing Western Australia continued with Harry B and Cooper B playing in the U15 National Championships in Darwin and Benjamin L playing in the U13 National Championships in Newcastle.

Players represented the School in various carnivals throughout the season, including our primary school players who competed in the Busselton Goldstix Carnival and our Year 7-9 players who travelled to Perth to compete in the Ross Meadow Shield. Congratulations to the Boys team who took home silver medals.

Our First XI teams came together to play in the ACC Carnivals and Country Week. Both our Boys and Girls finished a pleasing third at Country Week, with the Boys also finishing  with Runner-Up Medals at the ACC Carnival and therefore,  invited to the prestigious David Bell Cup where they finished fourth.

The season concluded with our Presentation Night. We welcomed Mrs Ann Osborne and Mr Roy Hansen, who presented Outstanding Contribution Trophies to Fraser M and Dani B.

Ms Cara Borthwick was also honoured for her fantastic contribution to Grammar Hockey as a coach. The night concluded with the announcement of the Jayde Taylor Trophy winner, Meg W and the Clayton Cup winner, Jonah L.
