7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
We are pleased to announce the next in our Soup Seminar Series, the Dangers of Vaping, which will look at the extreme risk vaping poses to young people. Presented by our School Nurse Eboney Franklyn and Naomi Pedrochi, from the WA Country Health Service, this session isn’t just informative – it’s a call to action for parents and the School community.
Vaping among Australian teens has risen sharply, with over 25% reporting regular use, and we’ll discuss how vaping impacts developing bodies and minds. Sadly, misinformation plays a huge part in why many young people view these activities as “safe” to try, and the extreme addictive nature of these products means that they can quickly find themselves into life altering habits. We want to help adolescents to combat myths and misconceptions to ensure their long-term good health.
This session is open to our entire School and broader community, and we specifically encourage parents of children in Years 6, 7 and 8 to attend as these students will be participating in classroom learning throughout the day.
Tickets are $5 for BCGS families and $15 for interested community members, and include delicious homemade soup and crusty bread, tea and coffee.
